Bel End the Dragon: A sexual reading

This is a story about how to be a man. This is a story about who has the biggest bel end.

In this book appetite and sexuality are intricately linked. The characters’ relationship with food comes to symbolise their level of sexual dominance.

Bel cannot be a god worthy of worship because he does not eat. His ability to eat (ie. his ability to be sexually dominant) is a huge sham. His penis is exposed as fake.

The dragon on the other hand is seemingly powerful. Physically he is impressive. But his appetite is his downfall. He ‘explodes’ and loses all of his power. He foolishly gives away his sexual dominance, meaning death.

The lions had been eating well. They had established their sexual prowess. But they could not eat Daniel. Why could they not eat Daniel? Because they knew that Daniel had a bigger bel end than them.

Daniel’s sexual dominance comes from God. He is fed by God. Habakkuk is a prophet who’s central message is ‘the just shall live by his faith’. The fact that he eats the hearty stew made by Habakkuk is not only proof of his healthy appetite but re-iterates that it is faith in God which makes you a man.

The central message in this story is: If you want to have a big bel end then have faith in God because God has the biggest bel end of all.
